CHALLENGE  ACCOMPLISHMENT # 3

THE RESOLUTION:  Challenge by You

14 Posts in 14 Days

It was a well deserved long weekend from ThirteenSquared after recently conquering a reader challenge submitted my by sister Maite. Apart from having a blog submission every single day, the last week of April and first week of May saw record breaking numbers on the inspiration counter. In addition to that, ThirteenSquared and the YouTube account KN Extraordinary Life have expanded viewership to more than 35 countries in 5 continents.

*That is so, so cool! :)

Back in April 25th, 2013 I introduced the challenge with its own empowering little story highlighting how much of a struggle these resolutions can be. (See that story at http://thirteensquared13.blogspot.ca/2013/04/forging-ahead.html) I’m sure if you think back to your own resolutions, if you even remember what they were, you would agree. I’m not trying knock you if you don’t. I don’t recall a single year of my life that I have knowingly accomplished a resolution in any way that has impacted my life. ThirteenSquared has been my effort to change that by utilizing this powerful accountability tool. Perhaps I can even inspire you to make your own life improving commitments by recognizing your own needs.

Harnessing the moon energy.

I must admit that the pressure to triumph over this two week challenge was so great that I spent nearly a week ahead its’ inception making arrangements, organizing and even having ‘nearly completed’ entries ready as a back up. Without that preparation in fact, I would have been doomed. There are days were writing feels nearly impossible. Time constraints and prioritized responsibilities certainly play into it. Although, my mood and mental attitude can be the biggest hindrance as with any other attempts to keep any promise to myself or to others. Sometimes stress or an overnight shift at my job can result in an inability to focus; the letters on my screen blur and fade into glare.

This challenge actually presents the best example of successful accountability. It forced me to prepare, plan, execute, push through excuses, endure mentally, and then push some more in order to present all 14 posts on time. I learned that the preparation stage is just as critical to writing stage. This lesson can be broadly applied to most challenges in life and one I will be relying heavily upon coming up very soon for the biggest challenge announcement yet. Stay tuned as I get pushed further and further out of my comfort zone.

One woman. One year. 67 down. 102 to go.
