Swimming - A Challengers Review

The irony is that of all the beaches around the world I've ever traveled,
so few are the times I've actually swam their waters.

My desire to integrate swimming back into my lifestyle is what sparked the creation of my resolution themed blog: ThirteenSquared. So far it has been the most successfully accomplished resolution list and the time has come to begin reporting how these little sessions are progressing.

Back in January I posted a short intro regarding the first swimming outing. Here is a snippet of what I learned:

- Chlorine really stinks... like for a long time!
- Going for an hour with friends who like taking breaks between every lap definitely dissolves the work part of the 'workout' :)

CHALLENGE  ACCOMPLISHMENT # 2

THE RESOLUTION: Swim

February 3rd
The second installment of swimming is complete. It is still early in the game here but I can already see that this challenge will be easy enough to conquer with the amount of seemingly long-term support our group has created. I'm excited to see this experience now means more to me than just overcoming a challenge, it has created a change in my lifestyle that I am grateful for.

THE RESOLUTION: Swim

Our group keeps growing!

I'm thrilled to see so many of us take to the water to support, teach, learn and push one another.

CHALLENGE  ACCOMPLISHMENT # 4

THE RESOLUTION: Swim

March 3rd
Each swim session is producing better results in terms of actual time spent propelling myself through the water. I am not yet at the stage where I am timing my laps or recording the distances covered. Focusing on my swim form and trying out different techniques is helping me to discover ways to increase my endurance and lessen the chances of injury.

Injuries are a definite concern at this point in my life as they have been the sole contributor to my unfortunate end in two sports I so dearly loved: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing.

At a Muay Thai fight in Chiang Mai, Thailand were I trained briefly in 2012.

One woman. One year. 37 down. 132 to go.
