Remember that resolution amendment I created a while back? I introduced travel stories to ThirteenSquared because traveling is my passion. More importantly, I hope to imprint my love for the world and its endless cultural, historical, gastronomical and geographical wonders through my writing. No better place to practice my travel writing skills and showcase my developing talent than on my very own personal growth blog.
Here is a reminder of that change:
I was starting to think that I would have to write those articles by reflecting on memories, photographs and the zillions of rough notes and messages typed, scribbled or carved throughout my nearly 1 year journey around the world in 2012. I still intend to bring to life some of the most outstanding experiences I have lived through such as riding a motorcycle alone through the protected mountain jungles of Laos in search of isolated tribes, the surreal trek to reach the last remaining tattoed face women of Myanmar, hitchhiking stories from Europe and Central America, climbing volcanoes in Indonesia and getting stuck in an active warzone.
Today I want to announce that in addition to those articles, I will be streaming live feeds from a whole new continent. This August/September I will be traveling through several countries in South America including Guyana, Brazil, Suriname, French Guinea and Paraguay. This will be my first trip that far south on the Western Hemisphere. A few of these regions are quite remote, sparsely visited and little information can be found regarding travel there. I hope my stories will become that much more relevant to others as an increase in information about countries lacking major infrastructure and foreign guidance can be very useful.
