THE RESOLUTION: Food from 13 Different Countries
The outside of this establishment is an unimpressive yet deceiving entrance, likened to an after hours Shwarma stand. As you descend the staircase into this basement restaurant it opens up immediately into large rooms filled with dozens of tables. The walls are covered with Ethiopian decor, pictures, painted cloth and colourful and informative menus. It's impossible not to learn something about the Ethiopian culture here even though you only came for the meal.

For example;
"Ethiopian cooking, like Ethiopia itself, now em-bodies elements of several cultures – in Ethiopia there are over 80 languages spoken by people of different ethnic groups living side by side as members of a nation with a long and continuous history of independence and by-and-large unadulterated traditional values. Food in Ethiopia is perhaps more important in everyday social relations than it is in western cul-tures; it is varied, it is interesting, and it is delicious."

Thanks to ThirteenSquared's number one supporter, April Beresford, I was able to basically sample everything that Wass had to offer. The massive combination plate has a range of meats and vegetables and it is all eaten with the help of the Injera: which is basically that fluffy super-tortilla (that tastes nothing like a tortilla). Our wonderfully helpful waitress can run you through our selection in this terrible quality video (sorry:{).
Here is how 'use' the injera which essentially replace cutlery (if you can see it):
And of course, April and our unbelievable meal. We had tons of delicious leftovers too.And the super sweet Ethiopian honey wine to boot!

One woman. One year. 16 down. 153 to go.

Trying out this restaurant was a pretty awesome experience. I enjoyed the taste of the food, the atmosphere and also the fact that forks were not required. The messier the activity, the better! =)We never tried a desert so we need to go back for SURE! I love that you are doing this blog because it forces ME to try new things TOO!
