I hereby proclaim the following 13 resolution lists to be my challengers for the year 2013:
1. Be a designated driver
a. Challenge must be completed successfully 13 times.
2. Try something new
a. Thirteen new things must be tried and documented (hopefully in a wonderful story).
3. Volunteer!
a. Challenge states that on 13 different occasions I will volunteer my time to any cause I choose for 1 hour.
4. Write a letter
a. Make that 13 letters! To those people I've so neglected from far and near, I have not forgotten you; it's time you know that.
5. Swim (I really wanted to do this 2012 and never did it. It was actually that simple contemplation that launched this entire project!)
a. Challenge is set at 13 occasions where swimming, as in doing laps or some kind of exercise takes place for a minimum of 20 mins. Sitting in a pool does NOT count :P
6. Cook/Bake something new... or at least try to :D
a. Thirteen totally new and hopefully eatable items will be produced and documented. (This will really be harder than it sounds.)
7. Read 13 books
a. Self-explanatory
8. Thirteen Random Acts of Kindness
9. Make 13 artsy projects
a. Another of those "Why don't I do that more often?" challenges with the added twist of having to show you all the finished product as part of my accountability.
10. Eat food from 13 different countries
a. After eating cockroaches in Laos and grasshoppers in Indonesia, not to mention dozens of meaty meals from unknown sources [:(] last year, this one should be a breeze.
11. Fix 13 things
a. I'm sure we could all easily produce 13 projects to complete from some box in the garage somewhere lazily labeled "Later...".
12. Have meaningful get togethers with friends old and new
a. Truthfully, I don't go out much and I hardly ever see my friends. Of course to be fair, I spent all of 6 weeks in my country in 2012 and was indeed, out the rest of the days. But this year I want to strengthen my friendships and diversify my fun so get ready friends for 13 outstanding get togethers. (And if you happen to be drinking, I may just have to drive you home so I can complete resolution 1 :P.)
13. Do 13 Challenges suggested by you!!!
a. Yes YOU! and you! Call it a little bit of a dare game. As long as you keep it reasonable, positive and legal I will complete 13 challenges selected by you. No better way to add some spice to your life :)
So here they are, the ThirteenSquared resolutions of the year 2013.
ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-NINE challenges to be blogged about through stories and pictures.
I will be very much looking forward to your support and encouragement. Don't forget to subscribe to http://thirteensquared13.blogspot.com.es to be kept up to date with all of my achievements.

7. Hang out with Chris and Jess 13 times :)
ReplyDeleteIn the spirit of this project, I think you should suggest 13 different fun activities that can be completed during aforementioned 'hang out.' The more bizarre the better. Remember, this is meant to be a challenge so we shouldn't make it easy on her should we lol????!!!
DeleteYou and Jess are officially invited to all 13 of my afore mentioned meaningful get togethers :D Oh and coming to watch your band play while surrounded by is totally meaningful so, when is the next one?
DeleteOk, I challenge you to play Dungeons and Dragons for at least two nights (not including character creation). You have to play a female half-orc barbarion known only as RAWRAARWARARRRR!!!!
DeleteThis is absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI can help with cooking but baking is new to me too. Perhaps we can recruit some friends to help with this and I can be the film crew (you can start a 13squared channel on you-tube!!!) I know I would watch your show and so would many others....and given that you have a mac now you can edit the videos anywhere you end up in the world (as we KNOW you don't stay in one place for very long). Hey, in your new you-tube series, can I play the role of your clumsy (but wickedly charming) side-kick? Not really because I want to help you, but more because I think this idea of yours will really take off and in the end you will help me become famous.
So I will offer my services. Anytime you feel the need to be the DD you just let me know and I will start in with the Jagerbombs. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make because I care.
How about you start responding to more couch surfing requests and you can show people from other countries around the Hammer? Stories about those experiences would be wickedly fascinating. I can't wait to read!
You have our attention. So when do you start in with this project? What is going to be your very first challenge?
You always wanna push me one step further don't you? As if I haven't already set up a monumental resolution challenge for myself, but hey, why not bring more life to this... as long as you are willing to help :) That will certainly secure your place as my wickedly charming (but kinda clumsy) side-kick!
DeleteAs for couch surfing, it's fantastic... if only anyone ever to come to the Hammer :(
The project began the second 2013 was welcomed. Already I am starting to compile accomplishments. Now I just need to crank out the stories for you to read :)
AMAZING! Just amazing!!
ReplyDeleteSO I have dibs on the last resolution, to be one of 13. But I just require some time for brilliance to kick in. So pen me in. Everything sounds amazing, and I may actually take some of these for myself, if that's okay with you!!
Your reservation has been confirmed :P Make it good my friend!
DeleteAnd if I can can or did inspire you in any way, you've already made me day :) Maybe you can even let me know how it goes someday... like maybe on the day you help cook something new! YaY!
